Ingredients

  • 500 g canned salmon
  • 1 T capers
  • 1 T whole grain mustard
  • 1/4 c panko
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 t sea salt
  • 1/4 t freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 T canola oil
  • buns (to serve)
  • lettuce (to serve)
  • sliced tomato (to serve)
  • whole grain mustard (to serve)

Method

Equipment: 1x large bowl + 1x nonstick skillet.

Make the patties

1. Drain the cans of wild salmon.

2. In a large bowl, toss the salmon, capers, mustard, panko, egg, salt, and pepper.

3. Firmly press into 4 patties, each 3/4" thick.

Cook the patties

4. Heat 1 T oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.

5. Add patties and cook, flipping once, until golden and warmed through, about 7-8 minutes.

Serve

6. Serve patties on buns with burger condiments.

Notes

SJ Note 9 Jun 2024: Original called for the patty to be wrapped in a leaf of rainbow chard. I have substituted buns here.
