Ingredients

  • 2 c Sugar (Granulated)
  • 2 c Flour (Plain)
  • 113 g butter
  • 1/2 c vegetable oil
  • 1 c water
  • 2/3 c cocoa powder
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/2 c buttermilk
  • 1 t ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • Icing:
  • 1/4 c cream cheese
  • 3/4 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 T milk
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 2 c powdered sugar, up to 4 cups, as desired

Method

 

Preheat oven to 375 F. Sift together the flour & sugar and set aside. In sauce pan combine butter, oil, water, and cocoa. Bring to a bring, remove from heat, and add to flour mixture. Dissolve baking soda in milk. Combine all remaining ingredients. Bake in greased baking pans for 20 minutes.

Bake in greased baking pans for 20 minutes.  Let cakes cool completely before icing.

For icing:

In saucepan, melt together cream cheese, chocolate chips, and milk. Remove from heat, pour in mixing bowl, and add vanilla. Beat in powdered sugar until icing is desired consistency/sweetness/amount/whatever.
