Cream Cheese Strudel Filling
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/2 c Sugar (Granulated)
- 1 t vanilla (or grand marnier)
- 1/2 c graham cracker crumbs
Mix cream cheese, egg yolks, sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Lay down half the mixture in the middle third of the prepared strudel dough (rolled out), leaving an inch at both top and bottom to fold over. Over the cheese mixture, sprinkle a thin layer of graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup on each strudel. Fold an inch of dough over the top and bottom, and fold each third over the middle. You can also use a "folded wheat" approach and cut strips in the flaps to allow some of the filled to peak through. Bake as stated in recipe.
