Ingredients

  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 pre-baked or graham cracker crust
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • whipped cream, to serve

Method

Remove the wrapper from the can of condensed milk and place it, unopened, in a large pot of water. Bring the water to a boil, making sure the water level is above the top of the can. Continue to boil (adding more water when you need to keep the level high) for 3 or 4 hours. Let the can cool completely. When it's cool, open it and you'll find you have a can of toffee cream. Spoon that into a pre-baked or graham crust that you can eat. Slice over some bananas to cover the top. Add whipped cream. It's rich and creamy and delicious and the easiest thing ever.

Notes

SJ Note 14 July 2009: Too sweet; texture of the toffee cream wasn't nice (but may have been influenced by only boiling for 2 hours rather than 3-4).
