- 1 Sugar (Granulated)
- 1 water
- 1 lemon juice
- 1 lime juice
The measures above are all "1 part by volume" - so 1 cup of each (any cup will do, so long as you use the same one for all the ingredients), or 100mL of each, etc: use enough of each to make how much sour mixer you need.
1. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil and boil until sugar dissolves. This is a simple syrup. Let cool; refrigerate if you have time.
2. Combine the simple syrup with the lemon juice and lime juice; refrigerate until needed.
Mix this with amaretto to make amaretto sour. I'm sure it's called for in other cocktails, as well.
This is tasty, and makes great amaretto sour. It also keeps awhile in the fridge - a week or two so far.
