Ingredients

  • Lot 1
  • 110 g brown sugar (220g)
  • 56 g shortening (112g)
  • 107 g honey (214g)
  • 20 g molasses (40g)
  • 8 g malt flavor (16g)
  • Lot 2
  • 1/2 T ground cinnamon (1T)
  • 1 t vanilla extract (2t)
  • 1/2 t salt (1t)
  • 1/8 t nutmeg (1/4t)
  • Lot 3
  • 330 g oat bran (660g)
  • 50 g oats (100g)
  • 50 g flax seed (100g)
  • 75 g wheat germ (150g)

Method

1. In a large microwave safe mixing bowl, combine Lot 1. Heat for about 30-60 seconds, just until it melts together.

2. Add Lot 2 and mix together.

3. Add Lot 3. Stir well to combine.

4. Press mixture into our lined or greased large silver baking pan.

5. Bake at 325F for about 25 minutes.

6. Remove from oven and cool. Once cool, break into bite sized pieces. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

SJ Note: Double recipe amounts are given in parentheses. Be sure to use two pans if doubling. Do not halve.
