Ingredients

  • 1/2 c softened butter
  • 1/2 c Sugar (Granulated)
  • 1/2 c Sugar (Brown)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2.5 c Flour (Plain)
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 3/4 t nutmeg
  • 1 t ginger
  • 3/4 t ground cloves
  • 1 t cardamom
  • 1 t cinnamon

Method

1. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Beat in eggs. Beat in flour, baking powder, vanilla, and all the spices.

 

2. Chill dough for at least 2 hours. Roll out into long thin rolls, about the diameter of a thumb. Wrap securely and chill again for a few hours or overnight. Cut into slices about 1/4 inch thick. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake in preheated, 350-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
