Ingredients

  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 c water
  • 2/3 c lemon juice
  • 7.5 c cold water
  • 1 c smashed fresh strawberries
  • 1 c sliced fresh strawberries

Method

Combine 3/4 c granulated sugar and 1/2 c water, boil until dissolved, to form a simple syrup.

Combine lemon juice and remaining cold water in a pitcher; mix.  Add simple syrup to taste.

Smash strawberries on a shallow dish, using a potato masher or a fork. Add the smashed strawberries to the lemonade mixture. Add remaining strawberries.

Mix all together and let chill for 2 to 3 hours. Stir before serving.

Notes

Cookie_Chef: Next time I may put in some maraschino cherry juice or grenadine syrup.
