Celery Baked in Cream
- 240 g celery (trimmed)
- 1/8 t ground allspice
- 1 cloves crushed garlic (skinned)
- 150 mL single cream
- 13 g fresh bread crumbs
Reserve a few celery leaves to garnish, then cut the sticks lengthwise into thin strips. Cut each strip into 2" lengths and put into an oven-proof serving dish.
Mix the allspice, garlic, and cream together and season to taste. Pour mixture over the celery. Sprinkle with the breadcrumbs.
Bake at 400f (200C) (Gas Mark 6) for about 1 hr 15 min, or until the celery is tender.
Serve hot, garnished with the seasoned celery leaves.
