Ingredients

  • Single:
  • 2 oz rum
  • 1 oz triple sec
  • 1 T grenadine
  • 1 T lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup (to taste)
  • 2.5 oz pineapple juice (to taste)
  • Double:
  • 4 oz rum
  • 2 oz triple sec
  • 1 oz grenadine
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 2 oz simple syrup (to taste)
  • 4.5 oz pineapple juice (to taste)
  • Bottle for sharing:
  • 8 oz rum
  • 4 oz triple sec
  • 2 oz grenadine
  • 2 oz lime juice
  • 4 oz simple syrup (to taste)
  • 9 oz pineapple juice (to taste)

Method

Mix all the ingredients.  Serve chilled or over ice.

Notes

Note: The simple syrup called for here is acquired by mixing sugar and water in a saucepan on the stove and heating until the sugar dissolves.  I usually use a 3:2 ratio (by volume, though there's not much difference by weight, so use that if it's all you have) - 1.5 cups sugar to 1 cup water.  I usually just make up a batch and leave it in the fridge - it lasts forever (it has literally lasted me a year without any spoilage).
