Ingredients

  • Inside burgers:
  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1.5 T barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/2 t freshly ground black pepper
  • Combine and sprinkle outside:
  • 1 t onion powder
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/2 t freshly ground black pepper
  • The Rest:
  • 2 buns
  • sliced tomato
  • lettuce
  • sliced red onion
  • sliced pickles
  • sliced cheese (for cheeseburgers)

Method

1. Gently knead beef, barbecue sauce, salt, and pepper in large bowl until well incorporated. Shape meat mixture into two 1" thick patties.

2. Combine onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in small bowl; sprinkle spice mixture evenly over both sides of patties.

3. Cook until done.  We cook it under our grill (broiler) at max heat. 

For cheeseburgers: Once the meat's cooked through (160F), add cheese and put back under grill for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until just melted.
